Lilt Translator Summit 2021

Lilt hosted its first-ever Translator Summit, a conference designed to bring together the Lilt linguists and services team for a day of shared stories, best practices, and learnings about recent and future Lilt developments.

Lilt held the Translator Summit to provide its dedicated community of linguists a forum to discuss some of the most important challenges and opportunities facing linguists today.

Highlights from the day included career stories from Lilt industry-veteran linguists, a guest appearance from Jost Zetzsche, updates from the Lilt product team, and Q&A with the Lilt Translator Advisory Panel.

Last but not least, Lilt hosted the “Liltlancer Awards” to celebrate the contributions of Lilt linguists who have gone above and beyond in the service of Lilt’s customers throughout the year. (Congratulations again to our award winners!)

Customer Success Story: Canva

This month, we want to highlight the success of Canva, a Lilt customer. Canva is one of the fastest-growing online graphic design platforms globally. Since Canva launched in 2013, it’s grown a community of over 40 million users across 190 countries.

With Canva’s mission to create design templates that can be used by anyone, it’s important for those templates to be localized so that they fit the look and feel of their language and locale. But with so many content types to localize, the scale and complexity of the localization efforts were massive.

Contextual Reference Materials

We heard your feedback loud and clear - greater contextual reference is here! With this new feature, translators now have project-specific reference material stored on the project level within the Lilt platform.

Each project's reference material can be accessed from the side bar tab, "Reference Materials". Users are able to search materials by file name and filter by label.

Contextual Reference 1

Users are able to upload reference materials into Lilt, with all file formats supported. Users are also able to download and view files as necessary.

Contextual Reference 2

In addition to standard file access and management, users can add and remove labels from the files.

Contextual Reference 3

Lastly, when materials are no longer relevant, or projects have been completed, users are able to delete files.

Contextual Reference 4

All file formats are supported, including images, movies, PDFs, and more. Contextual reference is also integrated with Lilt’s SDL TMS and XTM Connectors, meaning that reference materials are automatically pulled into the Lilt Platform with these Lilt Connectors.
