Lilt Hosts Inaugural Translator Summit

Lilt's 2021 Translator Summit Unites the Lilt Linguist Community for Professional Development and Discussion

What: Lilt, the modern language service and technology provider, hosted its inaugural       Translator Summit, a linguist conference designed to bring together Lilt linguists and services teams. A day of shared stories, best practices, and learnings about recent and future Lilt developments gave Lilt linguists the opportunity to celebrate their impact. The event was held virtually on February 24, 2021.

Why: Lilt’s Translator Summit 2021 provided its dedicated community of linguists and services managers a forum to discuss some of the most important challenges and opportunities facing linguists today. The Summit also offered the opportunity to engage in live Q&A discussions with industry thought leaders, preview a demo of the new Lilt CAT Tool with the Lilt product team, network with peers, and hear career inspiration.

Who: Speakers at the Summit included:

-- Spence Green, CEO of Lilt, and Samantha Reiss, Head of Services at Lilt

-- Three industry-veteran Lilt linguists, who shared stories of building their careers in translation, and Paula Shannon, Chief Evangelist at Lilt, who hosted a panel discussion to highlight additional translator perspectives.

-- Lilt's product team shared recent updates and forthcoming innovations surrounding the new Lilt CAT tool, which is currently being rolled out to Lilt linguists.

-- Guest appearance from published author and independent translator Jost Zetzsche featured discussions about the importance of linguists developing multiple areas of translation expertise. Jost’s most recent book, “Characters with Character: 50 Ways to Rekindle Your Love Affair with Language”, a collaboration with Multilingual, was released last week.

To wrap up the 2021 Translator Summit, Lilt hosted the “Liltlancer Awards” to celebrate the contributions of Lilt linguists who have gone above and beyond in the service of Lilt’s customers throughout the past year.
