In a world where conferences have moved online, we understand that it can be difficult to find the right events to help you grow both personally and professionally.

That’s why we’re so excited to host Lilt Ascend 2020 on October 22nd. We’re bringing together speakers from the localization industry and far beyond to help spark conversations and inspire newcomers and veterans alike. Whether you’re watching presentations on localization strategies, listening to conversations around the future of AI, or participating in discussions with peers from across the industry, we’re hopeful that you’ll walk away with new perspectives and actionable insights on how to grow.

While we can’t wait to share the latest Lilt company and product updates, here are just a few more reasons we’re looking forward to Lilt Ascend 2020:

The Impact of AI

We’ll be joined by two academics that are paving the way in the world of artificial intelligence. Tom Davenport, Visiting Professor at Oxford University and Distinguished Professor of IT and Management at Babson College, will be covering his recent explorations into AI and its role in the workplace. Forward-thinking companies have an opportunity to apply artificial intelligence into their daily operations, and Tom will discuss how operational outcomes and performance can be improved.

We’ll also hear from Kyunghyun Cho, Associate Professor of Computer Science and Data Science at New York University, as he discusses the newest applications of AI, the latest changes in the field, and how that can all be applied to improve translation.

Learnings from the Top Floor

Ascend 2020 will center around the question of how to localize at scale, especially in a world that has and is becoming more digital by the day. As such, we’ve invited a few localization experts from companies that have had plenty of localization success over the years such as:

  1. Loïc Dufresne de Virel (Head of Localization at Intel)
  2. Alessandra Binazzi (Head of Global Localization at ASICS)
  3. Paul Buckley (Localization Project Manager at Canva)

They will all speak about their experiences building, traversing, and ultimately conquering localization at scale. Each event will have time for questions, so we’re looking forward to three engaging sessions.

A New Way to Network

Networking is a difficult game for many people, even when the world is operating normally. However, we wanted to make it a bit easier and a bit more fun.

During our virtual networking event for women in localization, we’ll be hosting women from across the globe, giving everyone the chance to speak to and learn from their peers. For some, it will be a chance to chat over coffee - for others, it will be a way to wind down the day with a cocktail in hand. No matter your time zone, we’re excited to help kickoff new conversations and connections.

Lilt Ascend is a fully virtual live event, completely free of charge. If you’re interested in joining the conversation, join us on October 22nd at Lilt Ascend 2020. For more information, please visit www.lilt.com/liltascend2020 or reach out to contact@lilt.com.
