Last year, we started a series highlighting the amazing Lilt employees (or Liltonians, as we like to call ourselves). We’re excited to continue that series this year with some of our team members helping to pave the way for a multilingual global future. Get to know more about the faces behind the work, their backgrounds, what makes them tick, and what makes Lilt the place for them.

People Spotlights- Litonians 24 (4)

Meet Connie Mach, a Design Associate at Lilt who helps create beautiful graphics and compelling sales and marketing assets for our teams. We sat down with Connie to learn more about her background, her experiences at Lilt, and what she does to recharge outside of work.

What's your role at Lilt, and what does your day to day look like?

I'm a Design Associate; My day to day usually consists of designing different projects for teams across the company like government, sales, and product. I focus on creating graphics and sales enablement assets to help build and streamline Lilt's brand and aesthetic.

What is/was your favorite project to work on at Lilt and why?

My favorite project was working on the State of Global Experience Report. The 2021 Report was my first big project when I began working here and seeing the feedback and responses from those who downloaded our report was an amazing feeling. Being able to work on it again for 2022 showed me not only how far we've come as a company, but also how far I've come as a designer.

What led you to join Lilt?

Lilt's mission to make language accessible to everyone regardless of their background really resonated with me. As a bilingual Asian American, I appreciate the benefits of being able to speak different languages, and see the importance of understanding others on a global scale.

Describe life at Lilt in three words.

Creative, Inspiring, Cooperative

One of the best parts about my job is being able to collaborate with so many different people and seeing how my work directly impacts the company and our mission.

What is your "happy place" outside of work? What do you like to do for fun?

I have two cats so I usually like playing with them or taking one of them out for a midday walk. I also love to work out so I often go to the gym to unwind.

What is your favorite quote or personal mantra?

“You know, sometimes all you need is 20 seconds of insane courage, just literally 20 seconds of embarrassing bravery, and I promise you something great will come of it.”

What Lilt value do you resonate with the most? (Toughness, Humility, Quickness, and Meticulousness)

Quickness. We always are trying something new at Lilt, and every day is different.

If you could learn to speak any language(s), what would it be and why?

I'd want to learn Japanese or French while I get back to practicing ASL. I like to watch anime so learning Japanese would be pretty fun. I've always thought that French sounded elegant and is hard to learn so I'd like to challenge myself. I took ASL in college for 2 years and found myself using it outside of the classroom more often. Language goes beyond just voice and I'd like to be able to dive deeper into that realm.

Thanks for chatting, Connie! Want to join our growing team and help build the future of global experience? We’d love to talk to you if so. Check out our careers page to find the right role for you and learn more about how you can get involved.
